I like original series Ditto mechanics more than I like Omniverse mechanics honestly

Some headcanons;
being a hive mind species and yet each possesses individuality. Taking arguments with yourself to the next level!
while pain and other sensations are felt together, actual wounds are body specific, so one body bleeding out will be painful for the whole hive mind yet the blood loss will only affect one body
unlike in the original series, if one body dies, the hive mind will continue living until all bodies are gone
Due to this, Splixsons have a huge belief in the afterlife
Original series splitting mechanics are better don’t at me
seeing as Splixsons are quite low on their food chain on their planet, many have taken up a nomadic lifestyle and will gladly travel across the galaxy
if one or more body gets separated great distances, the hive mind will eventually split in two from the stress
The more bodies a hive mind has, the lesser control they have over each of their bodies and the harder it is to do simple tasks unless every body is doing the same task
this means that, if a hive mind has too many bodies, sometimes actions will be repeated across several bodies, such as if one group is doing arts and the other is dancing, the two activities will get mixed together such as a dancer suddenly making paint strokes despite don’t holding a paint brush
many Splixsons don’t like sleeping alone, so they’ll cuddle together even if they’re in the same hivemind
The bodies cannot sleep as individuals, once the hive mind is asleep, all their bodies will sleep
