This is lovely though it invariably makes me sad looking at it which isn't a bad thing, it just conveys a certain sense of emotion rather strongly.
I'm not sure if it's a prisoner of war as others have said though the hands definetely form a bird. Perhaps it's just someone looking or longing to rise from a dark situation or place into something better (the movement of dark to light in the photograph with the illumination on the head of the 'bird'). A longing that most have felt or will feel once in their lives.

depending on your mood... you can pull alot of different interpretations out of it. while the wrists look as it they are bandaged. it sends an emotion of a P.O.W. trying to convey a dove of peace. a last hope to be freed.

As far as I'm concerned, the phograph and editing are perfect in every way, I only wish that the image were larger. Keep it up.

Love the texture you added to the photograph. I agree that it reminds me of some prisoner hoping for escape from the hellish prison into the light of freedom (or something along those lines..good job!

That's a powerful image. Pretty successful for something you were just fooling around with. It reminds me of hope or something like that. The hands and background are so dreary looking, and then you've got the bird and the light from above, so it's very powerful.
This is definately going in my favourites.
