I'm certainly not the biggest Coldplay fan out there, but I love pristine looking cover art. And when I was recently looking for a high-resolution cover for their 2005 album X&Y, I learned that the artwork is based on what's called the "Baudot code."The code is based on a series of 1's and 0's and was developed and patented in 1874 by Frenchman Émile Baudot. It was the most widely used method of telecommunications until it was replaced by Morse code in the mid-20th century.
During my research, I came across this fun little website and decided to not only recreate the official single covers (because I just love the perfect consistency between album and single covers), but also create custom covers for all the remaining songs on the album. Kind of like what I did for Daft Punk's Random Access Memories a while back.
