Description
Uff!DC comic's Swamp Thing
Nankin.
This is a piece I really dedicated myself. At the same time I wanted to get a big improvement in my ink skills, I wanted to enjoy drawing my favourite comic book character. It is exactly how I expected!
The woman lying (sweetly) on the grass is Abigail, but I forgot her black hair fuses!
That's it!
Thank you all!
See ya!

Looks like it took forever, or a good amount of patience - something I'm short of.

the style and attention to detail only compares to edward bourne-jones in my mind. have you ever considered woodcut printing?

I'm no comic-book connoisseur ('know squat about 'em), but your work makes me want to pick up the next Swamp Thing issue! The ink work is absolutely fabulous! Man, I can't imagine sitting down and working on those lines, but you did 'em!
And Abigail looks so serene and unaware -- completely innocent, with the minimal shading, contrasting to the dark lines and shades you've done to the rest of the space.
Marvelous. Absolutely marvelous.

Stunning detail. Absolutely stunning detail.
And you've captured something truly intangible in the essence of these two characters. Gorgeous. Well done and congrats on the DD!

I don't normally comment on DDs, but this really stood out to me. I love inkwork especially when it's done so masterfully and with such an eye for detail. Wonderful contrast between the whiteness of her body and the intricacies in the background. Very deserving of a DD!

You have outstanding inking talents and you can see the dedication just by looking at all those pen marks. You ahve truely shown great talent, and the contrast of Abgail to the swap aroundher makes her stand out! Great work all around and to add, a dedication to one of those heros people seem to forget about easy!

Oh man. There just isn't enough Swamp Thing love out there - both the comic and the show were incredible. The attention to detail here is so dazzling it's making my eyes hurt. From the texture on the tree trunks and grass to all the roses and vines on Swamp Thing ... wow. That's what I call 1st Degree Pen Slaughter, there. My hands are aching just thinking of the amount of time that had to take to ink. I'd have to be insane to not this. Excellent work.

oh man. i used to think the swamp thing was da shit!!
remember when berni wrightson was the artist?
seems like jim aparo might have drawn him too.
sweet work man! this looks a little like wrightson's style actually.
his pen work. did you ever see the illustrations he did for frankenstein?
anyway,...
love how you've the girl almost void of linework. leaving her looking more
soft, delicate, innocent,...in contrast with all the chaotic linework going on
around her. excellant dynamics.
great job!!
