Watching my portfolio I can definitely say I'm more of a Lord of the Rings/Dungeons&Dragons kind of guy. However, there are 2 sci-fi movies which had a huge impact on me when I watched them as a kid during the 80s: "Star Wars" (original trilogy) and "Blade Runner". I remember being completely blown away the first time I saw "A New Hope". "Blade Runner", on the other hand, was a bit different. As I watched it over and over again I slowly started to realize the masterpiece it was. What I admire most are the moods...the constant rain and darkness, the blue/green hues, the lonesomeness, the smoke, the juxtaposition of different architectural styles, the soundtrack...everything just brilliant! One might think that some of these aspects would equal discomfort, but they are portrayed in such a romantic way that they become captivating and soothing.So, concluding...this painting is an homage (another one) to this superb movie.
I would love to hear your thoughts and let me know what can be improved and I will certainly take it into consideration and try to update it.

"Bladerunner"! That was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw this and its just simply gorgeous! It reminds me of the "stage set" paintings that were used by the creator's of the flim in its earily stages of production.

The firts thing that came to my mind when I saw this masterpiece was "Blade Runner". Then I read the description and found out that you aimed for that 'blade runner-ish' feel. Well done!

Expected this to be Blade Runner inspired. That movie looked great. Those guys in the right corner looks like they've dressed up for a Star wars party. Great piece.

I've never seen Blade Runner, but this is still a great piece. It does indeed have a sort of lonesome feel to it, a doom and gloom vibe, but one that kind of calms you. I also love the lights, they add so much to this.

Oh, yeah, I would have been shocked if you had said that this was not inspired by blade runner. Nice use of the lanterns. I think that it adds that people-trying-to-cheer-up-their-lives-when-the-reality-is-dark touch.

This is perfect! The colours, the design and layout, the perspective! The piece makes my eyes move around catching all the little details and wondering whats going on in certain spots... wanting to move the camera up into the upper tiers of the cityscape! Its just wonderful!

It very definitely has a Blade Runner feel to it, so you've certainly achieved your goal in making an homage to it. Only one thing I notice, though - it's just a little bit too nice and neat. The world in Blade Runner was much more chaotic and dirty. This picture, while dark, actually has a slightly pleasant feel to it, and I think you'd agree that there's very little pleasantness in the environment of the film.
That said, it's not a major problem - my first thought on seeing this, even before reading the artist comments, was that this resembled Blade Runner. So nice work, and congrats on a well-earned daily.

Great use of perspective, colors and rendering. this is high grade painting man. awesome job. i'd say its perfectly alright. no problems as i can see, except for the fog inconsistency. more fog effect could be used on the streets.

you, having a degree in architecture and still working as a graphic artist gave me hope someday I will too.Because I might go to the architecture university this year and I was thinking my love for arts will remain a hobby.
