I'm such a dork for these two.This was inspired by Shepard's comment during the Samara mission when he asked Kaidan if he could learn to biotic float, to which Kaidan replied "Not in the next ten minutes."
Though I’m not crazy about the ending to Mass Effect 3, it at least leaves things open enough for each person to craft their own story of what happens after the war. In my mind Shepard would take a few years off from active duty to recover from his injuries and probably retire from the alliance. But being the workaholic that he is he’d eventually return to his role as a council spectre. Luckily, he’s still got Kaidan to remind him to take it easy every once in awhile.
As for Kaidan he’d continue to teach a class of biotic students as well as resume his own spectre duties. With the citadel being so close to earth he’d be able to easily serve both the alliance and council. Plus without the impending threat of a reaper invasion he’d have more time to improve his biotics and finally master that tricky biotic floating thing.
Sorry I haven’t been posting art lately, been super busy with work this month, hopefully things will slow down in January.

You can find it disturbing all you want but it's not ok for you to come onto my deviantart and leave bigoted comments about homosexuality when you know I happen to be one.

Andrew pls, my appologies then!but I see that your quite hasty to judge me as a bottom hole. i must say, i find this conversation quite interesting. But you seem a bit on the offensive right now and as i recall, theyre is nothing hatefull nor homophobic as a disturbance. No matter what you do there is always an unhappy aspect to each ending, it's pretty sad that realizing this reality would require Joker to lose EDI. And while I like to show the two of them living happily ever after I feel like there'd also be a lot of guilt/personal struggle for Shepard in regards to the Geth dying as a result of the choice he made.

This is so awesome. I just finished Mass Effect 3 a few days ago, and that final goodbye scene with Kaidan is eating me alive. I'm not ready for the story to be over. I need more John/Kaidan. Thank you so much for this. As sad as it sounds, this picture means a lot to me.

Yeah that scene pretty much had me in tears. In my mind they definitely did reunite since I went with destroy. That's one of the reasons i gave Shepard a spectre shirt, because i imagine them getting back to that line of work a couple years after the war's over.

I've always intended to live, and joked with Garrus about retirement plans, but I might have been willing to let the catalyst talk me into sacrificing myself if it wasn't for Kaidan. I made a promise to him. I had to live no matter what. I've never seen a romance that really got to me before. I don't know if it's because I was immersed in the game or because the love story itself was really well done, but it affected me in a way no other love story has. I used to make fun of people for this kind of thing, but here I am. John (I just went with default Shepard) and Kaidan had to have reunited. It is the only acceptable outcome. That's why I sincerely appreciate this piece. It helps me feel like my headcanon is more than just wishful thinking. So thank you.
