Real sharp piece you got here, it's an interesting concept and well executed.
In terms of critique, the only thing that comes to mind is the hatch marks along the "spine" in the center of the image. I am curious as to whether or not removing them would enhance the image, because they seem unnecessary/awkward in that location, and are at odds with the blotches they are overlapping.
