Description
"When the Matoran were granted their special status, when the Brotherhood of Makuta came to serve Mata Nui's will, those who dwelled in my land were ignored and abandoned. Determined to carve out an empire for myself, I began taking on the tasks the Matoran were too timid to do, and the Brotherhood of Makuta saw as beneath them. Now, centuries later, I lead hundreds of Dark Hunters scattered throughout the known universe. From my fortress, I assign them their missions, house the treasure they collect, and enforce our laws. Disobedience is met with extermination. Treachery is met with far worse... for traitors are not granted the mercy of death."Well, it's been a long, occasionally difficult road, but after almost 11 months, my Dark Hunter revamp project is officially complete! And what better way to close it out than with the merciless leader of the Dark Hunters himself? For the Staff of Protodermis, I used Hewkii Mahri's warblade for the tip and used a few Technic connectors to attach the Rhotuka launcher to the front; that way it retains form and function! His rebuilt armor makes him look a bit smaller than the original, but also more ornate. That brings me to a pretty controversial part of him: the tail. In the original model it looks like a third leg, which a lot of people complained about. For my take on TSO, I made it with a claw on the end so it actually looks like a tail, but can still function as an extra limb if necessary.
I finished the Shadowed One not too long after Voporak. But then I thought to myself, why stop there? I ended up going full ham and recreating his throne and my take on the Recorder, too! I figured the torches beside the throne would evoke a dark, eerie environment. The throne itself is a modified version of the one built by SairinNoMaou on TTV. My Recorder model was pretty hastily built, and I'm not sure how good it is since all we know about him is that he's a dark, twisted being. All the same, I think the distended eye helps the look a fair bit.
Phew! I racked my brain and my hand to bring you these MOCs, and not all of them turned out the way I'd imagined looking back. Still, I think I did a pretty good job of reimaging some of BIONICLE's most notorious mercenaries, and I think it helped me improve my building skills. I think I'll take a break from it for a while, though... I'll be uploading a folder with all of Project Odina later!
