White Diamond's 30s aesthetic majorly brings to mind Old Hollywood glamour. I love to draw gems as humans, and a human White Diamond, particularly her impossible luminous hair, could only appear as a dramatically, blindingly lit platinum blonde Jean Harlow. I looked at Harlow and Garbo for the statuesque inspiration, however, my face reference was Marlene Dietrich in this photo ( upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… ) with the regal attitude and her daughter's statement that she was a terrible mother.
