In the land of Aia, there are 31 circling the globe, with 24 awake 95% of the time. The largest one is the size of Los Angeles. Sprawling cities have grown on the backs of these turtles, and have existed for as long as anyone can remember. Each one is surrounded by a protective bubble that experiences its own weather. Most inhabitants of the world live on these turtles, because who wouldn't. Also because the crazy continent shapes make for really intense weather.
