I have a degree in Visual Arts and a degree in Illustration. I think I am qualified to say that simply putting junk on an animal and snapping a photo isnt that artistic, either.
Um, all I'm saying is:
I dont give a flying fuck about what is popular, or how this photo "pwns my life". It's not that creative. I work hard at my illustrations and my artwork. And the last thing I need is some stranger flaming me.
And my somment wasnt narrow minded. I'll give you an example. When I was 8, I fount it amusing to put a cushion on my baby cousin's head and laugh as he struggled, not knowing what to do. That is about as intelligent as this photo is, it's just putting an object on someone who doesnt have the brains to say "hey dude, that's really annoying".

no, I'm not against having pets. I just think that treating an animal as "entertainment" is not moral. I know it's just one little thing, but think about it this way.
When I was a child, I used to unknowingly tease my baby cousin by putting a cushion on his head. I would find it funny when he struggled instinticvely to get it off his head. Now, in my mind, this photo is the exact same thing. Putting junk on someone's head just because it's funny.

But it's different to compare struggling baby people to not struggling animals. And not just because one is a person and the other an animal. It's because, as you said, your cousin would struggle to free himself. But this gecko doesn't look like he's struggling or distressed. I'm sure if he were struggling to get it off, then it wouldn't be entertainment nor would it be on his head anymore.

I feel the same way about doggie halloween costumes. Dog clothing is only acceptable in the winter time in cold climates (like here) if the dog has insufficient amounts of hair to warm themselves while outside. Otherwise I find it disgusting.
Others find it cute.
Basically, opinions on everything vary... so I can understand why you hate that, because I hate animal clothing, tho I see nothing wrong with this picture as long as the gecko didn't get hurt, and for all I know, you might be one of the ones who finds animal clothing cute. *shrugs* I forgot my point already.
