Ever since I was introduced to the Lupin the Third franchise a few years ago, I've heard many variations of his themes, particularly one that would first be heard in his Part 2 series when it launched in 1977. From there, I would hear other renditions, either authentic compositions with the supervision of Yuji Ohno, or covers by different bands; a personal favorite is by Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.
But what if other themes could be mashed up with it to give it another sound? Well, I did have an idea in my head for a while, and wouldn't mind if someone tried this. The idea of mixing Lupin's '77 theme to that of Henry Mancini's Pink Panther just seemed all too perfect!
After all, one ep in Part 2 DID do a satire on the Pink Panther movies and Inspector Clouseau, as the master thief was after a Black Panther diamond. Coming full circle just seems logical.
Dunno why I added that soup can on the piano...call it a random bit of silliness!
