These Osteocrusids evolved in the rivers, and evolved claws on their limbs to help them from pulled away from the riverbed by the rivers currents. Eventually this clade began to colonize the ocean, outcompeting most of their ancestors. Only detritovorous Osteocrusids and the Osteotestids survived.
