These leaping hunters hunt smaller organisms and occasionally supplement their diet with small plants. The stiff, rod like shell of the Trunkalimaxids has regressed fully into a spine like muscle attachment that the leg muscles attach to, allowing them to jump great distances, almost twice their body length in a single bound.
