Wikus: "Aaah, you're a sneaky little weapons factory, eh? This will be a very big fine, man. A very big fine. We can get you with this."
Oliver: "Uncle Wikus is flying!"

Finally saw District 9. The first time I was a bit distracted, but I fell in love with it the second time through...and moreso the third...fourth...and fifth times watching it. Two and a half weeks after seeing it, I finally finish my first fanart.

I tried basing my poleepkwa design off of screencaps. Being that screencaps tend to be really dark, I should have looked at how other people render them. I've already noticed a few mistakes but I hope you'll forgive me. It was a lot of fun and I'm sure miniature prawns will be showing up in my sketchbook for a while.

Oliver has inserted his Villainous Van de Merwe action figure (complete with magnetic sweetie) into a rusty plane toy. Experts have determined a possible explanation through much rewatching of the Wikus-fails-at-piloting scene with subtitles.
