Description

    Danny was a young little Jangmo-o with a strange name and even stranger markings. His full name was “Don’t be a Dummy,” named after a song, much like many other members of the ranch. It was a thirty second long song, which Danny found interesting, since most songs were at least two minutes long. He has listened to his own song before, and because it’s so short he often recites it from memory when bored.

Danny didn’t fully understand who Lee Cooper was, but regardless, he was proud of his name. He was a bit less proud of his markings. Rez was going to swap the mewtaited recipe for a different one but it was accidentally used on Danny when he was an egg, and now he had several… “emojis” all over his body. He literally had another face… on his face. This, combined with his true name, made him a bit of a victim to bullying.
“Hey Dummy, you look like a Soundcloud rapper…” Neg the Tepig tormented one day.
“Shut up, Neg… My name is Danny! And you’re nothing but the antithesis of Pos! You have nothing to brag about!” Danny retorted with tears in his eyes.
Neg growled. He hated always being compared to that goody-two-shoes. But he composed himself and took a breath. “At least I look good. Nobody will deny that! Meanwhile, you look like a Dummy! Just like your name implies!”
“Hey! Stop that!” said Image. Danny’s ears perked up on hearing her voice and felt a rush of euphoria upon seeing her. Image was probably the most beautiful and the kindest Pokemon on the ranch. She was tall and graceful and sweet… She marched over to Neg and gave him a death glare. “You’ve got no reason to pick on Danny! So go somewhere else!”
Neg scowls and he walks away as he spits on the ground. Danny turns to Image. “Th-thanks again, Image…” he says.
“It’s no problem,” she says with a smile. “He really just needs to get a life already!”
Danny looks down to the ground, feeling his face warm up when in her presence. Maybe today should be the day he finally confesses his true feelings. “I-Image?” he asks.
“Yes?” she asks, looking at him with those bright beautiful red eyes.
“U-uhm, w-well, we’ve known each other for a l-little while now a-and… I just… wanna say th-that you always make me h-happy and uhm… What I’m trying to say is that I like you… a lot!” he spits out. His heart was racing a mile a minute but he was glad to finally get it off his chest. That is, until he sees Image’s facial expression.
“O-oh…” Image says, her expression turning saddened. She forces a smile and makes eye contact with Danny. “Th-that’s very sweet, but I… I’m afraid I like someone else…”
“W-what…?” Danny asks, feeling a sharp pain in his chest. “W-when were you going to tell me?”
“Well, I… didn’t know you liked me, otherwise I guess I would’ve…” Image stammers.
“Do you take me for a fool?! Do you just think that I’m… a Dummy?!” he screams.
“Dummy, er, Danny, no-!”
“Pah! You even said it yourself! Never talk to me ever again!” he screams and runs off. He runs into the secluded area of the woods. He finds a tree to sit under and cries, cursing his stupid markings and his stupid name… It all just showed him what he’d always be… Just a dummy.
