So I wanted to draw something, but I felt like straying from my usual style a bit. This is a design scheme I've tried before (you can see the results here ) and wanted to have another go at. I've changed it a little in that I've gone for greyscale and an accent colour, as opposed to black and white and an accent colour.This is Aang, from Avatar: The Last Airbender (please, watch the series NOT the movie!!), which I absolutely adore! I have drawn Katara from that series also. I find Aang a very interesting character, as he's so young and childish, yet has the greatest responsibility of anyone in the series...
I'm not entirely sure what's happened anatomy wise here. The neck doesn't look quite right to me, and neither does the head shape…I probably could have spent longer trying to fix that, but I just wanted to get something done. I'm pretty pleased with his expression, though. It may be simple, but it does encapsulate his childish joy at everything!
