I know...all babies eyes are blue when first born so don't give me a lecture
Actually I'm a mutt. Italian/Irish mainly and so I got my better looks from my mom who was Irish. My eyes go from brown, to hazel, to green, to gray...depending on the light I guess. But my drivers license says brown eyes. The DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) has the worse light ever. Just look at our driver's license photos

You're so right, dear Mel. The fingerprints I remember, will never be forgotten and I miss making and receive new ones, but it also warms my heart that I am so lucky to have these happy memories. Memories of 43 years of a wonderful marriage.

It is certainly not always easy and now Christmas is coming, the feeling is bittersweet, as dark chocolate with no sugar.
But fortunately, my daughter and we will spend the holidays together.

I like the analogy of "dark chocolate with no sugar"
I too will be having a "bitter sweet" Christmas - I shall be in London looking after my mother as my brother and his family will be travelling and the "support system" (she is severely invalided) becomes rather hit and miss at this time....
Still, I am fortunate to be in the position where I can give of my time and support - and surely this is a real part of what Christmas should mean..
