With flat saw blades and serrated bread knives. You can see the one blade sitting on the chair to the right (the thing with the red on either end).

yeah.. I'm tempted to redo the whole thing someday out of the pink blocks of insulation foam coated in fiberglass - it'd be a hell of a lot lighter. you can get a nice organic look with the canned stuff though... At any rate, I made this before there were a lot of people using the pink stuff with fiberglass (that I know of, at least), so it was pretty much 100% trial and error...

wow, just...don't try using it on anyone when finished, or we might have a repeat performance of Soul Blade.

I need to repaint it, and finally start working on a proper set of armor to go with it.

is it the insulation foam you were carving for this
i understand you used cardboard as a basis for the size and shape on top of which you criss crossed with other cardboard...
mmm expanding styro-foam between gaps? to fill in certain cavities from which you carved the formation

thanks... it is, but I like figuring out how to build props and costumes and such. I'd love creating movie props for a living, if only I'd gone to art school... that's why I like cosplay - it gives me an excuse to build this stuff. Soul Calibur's also one of my favorite video games, so that's even more motivation.
