How do you do that realistic specular on your buildings? I mean the reflections...
And you make me want to hang myself, you know that, right?

It's really amazing that you can create so much depth in a painting. It feels like I'm looking through a window.

Amazing. I love the colors and the depth. It looks like a photo.
I just got photoshop, and I'm looking to learn how to use it. Where would you suggest to start to learn how to do everything from photo manip, to creating something like this?
Suggestions anyone?

Oh, WHAT? Jesus. >
I wouldn't know where to begin doing anything like that. Obviously the bits that stand out as good are the buildings, but also I like the way you've handled the various tones across the sky, and the points where the landscape fades into the sea and the almost-not horizon. Even if I was able to put together paintings or intricate city perspective shots, I imagine those are areas I'd get stuck on. Good show.

It's amazing the way, through brushstrokes, you can create such a world that seems like something directly out of a sci-fi or fantasy film...like a photo from a faraway land [or even StarWars planets]. Excellent use of color lighting for that beautiful sunset atmosphere. The depth is perfect, and the composition lets your eye travel around the many details in the piece. All the lights of the smallest buildings, the reflections, the craggy peaks...so much tedious detail that makes it all the more realistic.

as usual great work on the city structures and the surrounding nature ... I love how nature and a high-technological civilization are coexisting peacefully in your images
the rocks seem to be painted with some roughter strokes than usual this time, but I like that too and it's always nice how complex your cities are
I found this quite hard to paint myself, my last painting went into the scifi direction and contained a background city... now that I again look at your works I again see how much I yet have to practise

The colors, the tiny little details, THE COLORS! This is absolutely positively amazing. I'm speechless. Just... wow. I love the way you've detailed the clouds, made them look real, the colors of the sunset, and the design of the city in the lower right hand corner, with all the little green-ish neon lights coming from the windows. The whole thing is just amazing. I love it. !

the reflections and lighting are both awesome, and the green hues go well with the picture as well-it makes the scene seem more alien and distant. Right out of a Clarke or wells Book.

this looks like a sequel to Eventide....perhaps the city on the other side of the mountains. this is amazing, by far my favorite out of the VA work...and believe me i thought it would be quite difficult to top Nimbus . i look at the enormity of the buildings then the trees along the river and see the sheer perspective in this. i cant even imagine whats going to come after this. great job
