Hellooo.
Here is a concept image of a derelict Shopping Mall. The kind of 1970’s hopeful-regeneration in a war torn area, left to rot by the original owners and overran with bad guys
The focus here is to depict – in the required style – a run down urban area, with high rises around and the “ prosperous” Mall central to the piece. It came out ok.Original res 3600 wide
Painted in PS CS3
Wacom Intous 3 tablet
About 8-9 hours painting time - and some researching etc.
I am tired today - where can I buy 12 hours sleep?

If you go to Kansas City, Kansas there is a genuinely wrecked shopping mall that's been there 15 years. I went on an expedition inside. It's pretty fascinating.

I love it when there is unintelligible text from a strange language in something. Unless it is something like Arabic, but the banner seems to consist of two seperate writing styles, and the sign on the mall looks seperate again.
It gives that extra sense of distance, like this is a completely different world from the one we know, complete with its own writing system

The top right palm is great. For some reason I really like it. Also the green plastic stuff (?) hanging from the balconies and over that framework give's it a great feel. NW
