Description Speedpaint - 55-60 minutes. I've not had time for anything complex so I've been doing some of these in my spare hour in the day.

Your brushstrokes are simple but as a whole it's a very complex piece. I like the point of view as well as the color scheme. Awesome work for under an hour.

Nicely, nicely done. This speed paint is a perfect example of what happens when mastery of light, form, color, etc. meets mastery of the tools. You've used perfect brush settings for a speed paint, but these would be worthless if you didn't have the incredible understanding of the way light interacts with objects that you possess. I'd be very interested to hear what kinds of brushes you used for this.

My only real crit is that some of the perspective on the statue base is off. Careful there. But for a speed paint...man, this is great stuff. IMO, one of the best ways to get a measure of an artist's abilities is to see what he or she can create in a short amount of time. The really great artists can make something out of nothing in very little time. The end product looks unfinished and spontaneous, but still correct and still artistic. That's what you've done here. Kudos!

One last thing...did you use any reference at all for this?

beautiful! obviously, you didn't have time to clean it up much, but it's simply fantastic! it reminds me significantly of a zelda game, or prince of persia.

WTF? ALL THAT in under one hour?! Noooo waaaay.

Kidding. I believe you. This is fantastic--all the right elements of light, dark, mood, and color where my mind would expect them to be in this picture in order to make this feel realistic, like a world I can just walk into.

Very nice.

Very nice! I really like the sense of space in this, and the light/dark contrast.
I am curious, how do you get the pointy sides of the objects? You know for example on the side of the pillar it looks almost 'hairy'. Is that because of a special brush?

Well done Antifan, it just goes to show that fast painting can help you achieve a more lively look to artwork. Great composition and light understanding is what makes this piece for me. Good stuff!
