AWESOME reflections! Do you do the blur as a filter after you paint it or is that painted in from scratch?

everything up to the texture on the car paint looks perfect - xcept one thing, the car seems to be floating a little above the road. i think the shadow beneath the car (tyres to be specific) should be a little stronger to complete the compsition, other than that theres no beef
the colour palette, the reflection, texture and the blures are all perfect!
btw: when the hell your book coming out, i realli wanna start reading it

Great work, looks even better then gt5 prologue
Regarding 48bit colour, would that be specifically for printing purposes, to remove the banding? As the majority of lcd panels only run at 16.2/ 16.7 million colors so any extra colour information wouldn't even be seen?

ANTIFAN-REAL In reply to skidu [2008-04-03 15:57:09 +0000 UTC]
That's it - but you can see 24-bit banding on good screens - particularily towards the lower end of the colour range (like pure green gradients or pure grey) - most video cards do not display 48-bit colour though but it comes out better when you print it. Obviously this image you see here is a 24-bit .JPG

Question: Do you own one of these type of cars? How do they drive? Good job on the picture.

ANTIFAN-REAL In reply to RoadrunnerKN [2008-04-03 15:32:51 +0000 UTC]
No I don't own one myself - I recently bought a new FD2 model (Jap import) Civic Type-R - having traded in my Cayman S for it - I needed more seats! They drive AMAZINGLY though - the final version of the 08 is not ready just yet though so I am still to drive one.

This is, in a word, incredible. I can't help but get the feeling, however, that the car is floating just above the road...

Wow this looks so damn crisp - is this coming from the 48-bit? Is this used for HD images or why did you choose 48-bit?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ANTIFAN-REAL In reply to xdreamer [2008-04-03 15:15:51 +0000 UTC]
48 bit colour is basically 16 bits-per colour channel - so there are 65536 levels per Red/Green/Blue channel - instead of 256 in 24bit colour.
24 bit colour gives a possible 16,777,616 colours (256x256x256)
48 bit colour gives a possible 281,474,976,710,656 (281.5 trillion colours) - removes any banding that is evident in 24-bit colour. Eats RAM though!
