Description
Drex was restless and wanted to work on his inventions, but something felt wrong. It had been several hours since his brother had left with Troi to play outside. He was considering going out to find them until he heard voices by the cave entrance.Vliticus and Troi soon marched in, shoving each other angrily and arguing. “Why didn’t you just get back out of the way when I told you?” Vliticus grumbled. “How wath I thuppothed to know it would ecthplode!” Troi retorted, “I truth-ted that you knew how th-trong the metal wath!” “I over-pressured it because I was destracted with getting you to move!” Vliticus snorted a little burst of air that ruffled some of Troi’s fur. “It didn’t matter how the cylinder was aimed! It was going straight up!”
The black dragon then turned his attention to Drex when they’d reached him and started the argument anew. “Drecth! You’ve got thome ecthplaining to do! You gave uth a bad gath bottle, and we blew it up!” Drex shifted his attention back and forth between his brother and their friend, glaring at both wind dragons in annoyance as black smoke curled from his nostrils. “And I remember telling both of you that it wouldn’t work. So why are you trying to drag me into this?” “You thuggeth-ted that we could do thomething with that gath thylinder!” “I said you could do SOMETHING with it, ANYTHING!” Drex let his wings fall open for emphasis before turning to Vliticus. “It was your idea to turn it into a bottle rocket.”
“Yes!” Vliticus growled. He crammed his face into Troi’s with a snarl, “Wouldn’t have been so bad if Troi would stop fiddling with it!” A sudden blast of air pushed Vliticus back a few inches as the black dragon bowed defensively. “But the bottle wath th-tarting to fall over! How did you not thee that?” The yellow dragon leaned forward and shouted at Troi, little gusts of wind punctuating every word. “IT! WAS! FINE!” “Thuppothe you should pay clother atten…””HEY!!” They both immediately stopped bickering and looked at Drex.
The red dragon gave them a stern look and chuffed. “The point is it failed. Right about now I couldn’t care less about how or why, and neither should you guys. There would have needed to be several modifications done to that cylinder BEFORE you took it out and launched if it were ever to operate as intended. Hopefully you’ve just blown a hole in it. If so, it won’t be much trouble to patch up. I guarantee the humans are not gonna like finding a bunch of random metal fragments in their national park.”
The two wind dragons glared one more time at each other and Troi shook some dust out of his fur. “Alright, tho how do we carry it?” he grumbled. “I’ve got a cart we can use.” Vliticus growled.
