Description
Apollo AKA Ray Summers is a metamutant with the ability to store solar energy and discharge it in the form of optic blasts. He was kept in the dark (literally) about his nature, his parents only telling him that sunlight would destroy him. After discovering that it was a lie, he ended joining teh JLA with a number of other metamutants like Firebird, Runaway, Wraith or Nightcreeper as part of the "New Blood" of the JLA. During this time he started a romantic relationship with fellow leaguer Firebird.

He, as well as most of the "New Blood", broke ties with the JLA during teh Trial of Mariner, and under the aegis of the misterious Mister X, formed the JLX. After Firebird becoming Dark Firebird and the enacting of the Armageddon Agenda, he went catatonic for a while, but eventually he got out of his stupor to save the life of the JLX (including his brother Joshua AKA Chaos) by crashing the JLX ship into the draconic creature Fing Fang Flame and absorb his energy by forcing his absortion powers to the max. He managed to survive the destruction but mutated into a form not unlike the energized form of his brotehr Joshua.

Okay, Apollo is the amalgam of Cyclops and Ray. I decided to give him a more streamlined look than the Jim Lee Cyclops/Joe Quesada Ray combo that we got in canon.
