I blocked it out
I went back to school today
But something wasn’t right
I look around for you at lunch
But I couldn’t see your face

I went to the bus today
But you didn’t sit with me
I thought maybe you got picked up
So I looked out the window

I went home today
But I didn’t see your car
I guessed you went out
So I went up to my room

I called you on the phone to night
But you didn’t pick up
I thought maybe you were grounded
So I went to sleep

I got up this morning
And waited by my door
But you never came to get me
So I thought you were sick, and left

I sat down in class
And heard the speaker go on
The principle said
You were dead

I ran out of the room
And flew right out the door
I ran down to the hospital
And went into your room

You were laying in that bed
Stone cold
And as pale
As death

You didn’t tell me you died today
I had thought you just weren’t well
But I guess I just didn’t relies
I guess I just blocked it out
