Description
EDIT: Just to make this clear. THIS IS HOW I (USED) TO DRAW SNARLING WOLVES. It is not correct, and the anatomy is COMPLETELY flawed in some aspects. Use at your own discretion! (keep in mind this tut was made way back in 2006)If you want to draw anatomically correct growling wolves, GO LOOK AT A PHOTO. Its much better than learning from a flawed tutorial.
Sorry for the crappiness x_x;
Some people asked for one, so I did.
Be aware that:
This tutorial is flawed, this is how I draw things, the anatomy is not perfect. So... cha dude.
If it does manage to help, it'd be cool to see what you guys come up with x);
So tiiirreddd... xD

So yes I know they are wrong!

Then why did you make a tutorial if you were just teaching others to draw incorrectly?

Why do you have to bash people? especially if you cant draw well yourself. if theres a tutorial to drawing something accept it. dont bash it just cause its not "perfect" in your eyes. So if your going to say shes drawing incorrectly what am I supposed to think of your own drawings?

I'm not "bashing" anyone. I'm merely pointing out that tutorials like this usually have the intention of helping the user to draw things correctly. The way that wolves' teeth are arranged is not a matter of opinion. If she just wanted to show how she personally draws, she just could have made a "how i draw" tutorial. But instead, this is saying "Hey! Go draw snarling wolves with mutant fangs, people!"

there isn't such a way as "to draw correctly", FYI

By correctly, I meant without shitty anatomy.

"Hey! Go draw snarling wolves with mutant fangs, people!" thats bashing someone.
so where does it say that its correct anatomy? cleary she stated that "This tutorial is flawed, this is how I draw things, the anatomy is not perfect."
So when you say She could have said, she did say. So learn how to read. so it is a "How I draw tutorial" So grow up.

SnazzyLion In reply to ammmp [2009-12-12 06:00:01 +0000 UTC]
...Seriously? You're going to resort to suggesting that I'm an illiterate person who needs to "grow up"? At least come up with a more clever insult, if you're going to do that.
Oh, and there are mutant fangs depicted here. This: [link] is what a snarling wolf /actually/ looks like. What I'm saying is, don't make 'tutorials' teaching people how to draw things incorrectly. You wouldn't make a tutorial that teaches the reader to give their wolves five feet long tails, would you?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ammmp In reply to SnazzyLion [2009-12-12 06:13:58 +0000 UTC]
So you admit your bashing her work? Wow and you say you werent.
Sorry if my tails look 5 foot long from your point of view. maybe you need glasses? If I wanted to draw a certain character or draw an actual anatomy of a wolf sure. I would use actual reference.
Just because one picture has a tail thats pretty long, hey it could be curled around the leg or something, or if its Anu's character in her case. her tail is a lot longer. So congrats. So lets see you do a tutorial on foxes? if you can prove me wrong. or a tutorial on fire? can you do one? lets see.
Be thankful that people even offer their tutorials to you.

What are you even talking about?
I haven't looked at your art.
I'm sure it's lovely.
Oh, and I can point out flaws without bashing. You don't have to take every negative sentence as a threat to the artist. And I never said that I draw foxes perfectly. I probably never will. But I study pictures of them so that I can get better at it. I don't just give them gigantic ears or something and never ever think to go on google to see if I have the correct proportions.

Flaws you say? since when is anything in life a flaw? how do you know that not all wolfs have two top fangs? hmm? Not all animals have the same bone structure, something could be a tiny bit different in their bone structure, like an extra tooth.
well congratulations. Not everything is a clone of another.

SnazzyLion In reply to ammmp [2009-12-16 03:00:18 +0000 UTC]
Um, yes. I do know that every wolf in the world has only one top fang on each side. And if they don't, they do have a genetic mutation.
Once again mentioning something that I never brought up. The majority of humans have only one lower canine on each side, yes? And if they don't it's completely abnormal?

Because at least it gives people the idea? It may be wrong, but I never said people HAD to follow it. Its there if they want to use it, and if they don't, they don't use it. Its just MY way of going about things, some people asked for a tutorial so I gave them one. Never said it was correct or the only way to do things, I just figured it'd at least help people have a better understanding and even move along and be able to further teach themselves and develop a different way of drawing snarling wolf faces. This pretty much is a rough starting point for those who do not really know how to draw snarling faces at all. It gives them the idea, and they can take it to higher levels and develop more "correct" anatomically as they will.
Pretty much I make tutorials to give people a place to start from.
Cause I know, as I was (and still am) a developing artist, I'd appreciate any tutorial I could get, either "correct" or not, as long as it gave me a general basis to start with so that I could then more easily grasp the concept and improve it on my own :]

SnazzyLion In reply to Anuwolf [2009-12-12 05:51:18 +0000 UTC]
I see where you're coming from with this. I just think that it's better for developing artists to base their drawing methods on factual anatomy rather than a specific artist's personal style.

Anuwolf In reply to SnazzyLion [2009-12-12 06:07:52 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean, and I agree. I'm not forcing people to use this tutorial- nor am I saying "THIS IS HOW TO DRAW GROWLING WOLVES AND THIS IS THE CORRECT WAY LOL." They know it's not correct, so if they use it they use it at their own discretion. Most of the time tutorials are never really followed to the letter, but just give people ideas. So set aside the fucked up teeth, maybe most people just find where to draw the main lines that make a snarl helpful. *shrugs*

Why do your wolves have two upper canine teeth? Wolves don't have that. In fact, NO wild canids do.

I know they don't. This tutorial was made a while ago.. also if you cared to read the description, I clearly stated that "Be aware that:
This tutorial is flawed, this is how I draw things, the anatomy is not perfect. " So I do know that no wolves/dogs/whatnot have two upper canines.
