Thea had been been walking outside for a bit before she saw Drizzle walking up the path. She called out to him and made her way towards her friend. Drizzle turned around and his ears dropped as he realized he had to crane his neck up to look Thea in the eyes.
”H-how did you grow so tall?” He asked surprised. Sure he had grown substantially from his once pudgy form, but Thea was practically a building compared to him.
”I grew,” was Thea’s curt response.
The awkwardness of it all seemed to disappear as Drizzle cracked a grin at Thea’s answer. “Th-Thanks captain obvious.” Thea matched Drizzle’s smile with one of her own. “Any time.”
Drizzle tried to match Thea’s hight by standing on his toes, but found it quite difficult to do so, wobbling back and forth as he tried. “Guess you can’t exactly stand on your tip toes with hooves.” He said with a sheepish grin. Thea squatted on her haunches so she was eye level with Drizzle, her eyes flashed amusingly, “Better?”
With a huff Drizzle crossed his arms and stuck his tounge out playfully at Thea, who retorted by sticking her tounge out right back. With a chuckle she said, “Oh i’m sure you’ll grow too. Guys always have that last growth spurt thing during their late teens you know.”
”I sure hope so,” Drizzle responded, his eyes darting to the floor, “This is embarrassing.”
”Naw, it’s adorable!”
”I do-don’t think teen guys are supposed to be adorable...”
Thea waved her hand dismissively, “Oh of course they are! ‘Teen’ just means not-hansome-enough-to-be-an-adult-but-not-tiny-enough-to-be-a-kiddie. Why do you think they call it the “awkward teen years” dear?” Drizzle still looked unsure.
”I guess that’s true...well I hope I don’t stay adorable. I’d prefer to look m-more mature. I don’t want to stay such a baby face...” Drizzle mumbled, wringing his ears as he did. Thea sighed and adjusted her weight onto the back of her legs. She then looked down at her stomach. “Well while we’re on the subject, I jut hope i’m able to loose some of this extra chub.” Thea extended her right arm to the side hand used her left paw to bat the underside of it, causing the flesh and fur to softly rock back and forth. “You may have the baby face but I got stuck with all the fat!” She laughed, her eyes still looking at her forearm as she stopped the pendulum of baby fat from continuing to move.
Drizzle looked up at her his whiskers glow in a bright pink. “Hey, I think you look f-fine!” He said with a smile forming once more on his face, “It makes you perfect for hugs and stuff.”
A mischievous ring crossed Thea’s face. “Like this!?” She shouted. Drizzle let out a small squeak before he was pulled into a giant bear hug. “Ack! Y-yes!” He laughed and wrapped his own arms as far as he could around Thea’s waist. Thea squeezed him harder before she let go. When Drizzle pulled away, she grabbed at her stomach. “Well then. I’m glad my fat rolls have some use to them!”
”Well I think you look great, even if you don’t like em.” Drizzle chucked lightly and crossed his arms, smiling triumphantly at Thea. “So there.”
Thea merely smiled and ruffled her friend’s head fluff. “And I think you Nook just fine with your baby face.
”Fine.” Drizzle huffed, a smile still prominent on his face.
