Mmmm.....Johnny! I think he's gorgeous personally, and I just had to get this outta my system! It was done with an 8B graphite pencil on A4 paper and took about 3.5 - 4hrs, scanned and tweaked in painter.....Related content

Thanks! I'm not sure actually, but I did have a reference, it might have been based on a movie of his but I can't say if it is!

I see that you havent quite captured the Depp look it's still an amazing piece of art. The lighting and level of detail are truly great.

Hey thanks, I didn't really wanna do a typical 'pretty-boy' pic of him, and I couldn' find a Jack Sparrow I was willing to endure that day, so I thought this pic was and interesting and different one so, yeah, there it is! Thanks!

You know, Iβm not seeing Johnny Depp when I look at this...what did you use for a reference?
All in all your technique is awesome, I should be asking YOU for critiques, the only thing I question is whether or not you managed to make this look like your reference. Iβd have to see the image to know for sure, but from memory alone Iβd say there is something amiss with his jawline, face length and finger placement...the bent finger just doesnβt seem to be coming off right. Could just be me though.

Thanks, yeah, the pic wasn't a very obviously Johnny pic but I thought it and interesting one and I tried my best, the hand was torture I admit and as for the jawline...agreed, it's more visible here than on the paper original, but it was intended to be a little darker as a whole on the right side, it's pretty close to the reference in proportions and stuff but obviously it's not an exact duplicate....I'm totally not in that league yet! Anyways, thank you for the critique, it's much appreciated, you've totally confirmed all my own naggings which is good cause at least I know I'm on the right track and can hopefully watch out next time! Thank you!
