Description
70 million years ago, the day came where the Qu would land on Earth. The noise of their ships landing had scared off a good majority of the local wildlife; so when they laid eyes on their surroundings, they were greeted by an eerily silent jungle. They would have ruled off the planet as having nothing worth experimenting on, had a female Therizinosaurus been at the right place and the right time. But alas, they saw her, and took her to their mother ship immediately. After running several tests on the poor creature, they concluded that this species were perfect subjects for genetic splicing and experimentation. They quickly returned, and corralled as many Therizinosaurs as they could find before leaving the planet to continue its journey. The captured Therizinosaurs would be altered beyond recognition and their descendants, Panderavis Pandora, would become what's left of their legacy.I felt like illustrating an implied tidbit from the book, where the Qu captured a handful of Therizinosaurs and altered them to become Panderavis; a hint of what was to happen to humanity later on down the line. I feel like I talk about this very small portion of the book way too much, but I can't help it. I find it infinitely fascinating, as there's a lot of gaps in this point of Nemo Ramjet's narrative that will never be filled. Why did the Qu focus their attention on this particular species of dinosaur? Where there other dinosaurs that were given the same fate? Where are their fossils if that's the case? The truth is we'll never really know. We just know that it happened; much like real life paleontology, in a way.
Enjoy or don't!
