It feels like it's been a while since I repainted a doll. But after spending some time in Auckland among other things, I wanted to get back into gear. When I was having a quick lunch before getting back to the airport to return home, I tried out this in-house soda, called 'The Mermaid'. It was gorgeous to look at, with this purple to yellow gradient and being topped with ice and freeze-dried berry pieces. I felt inspired to create -what else?- a mermaid doll based off of the drink.

I took it slow, as I didn't have a clear plan in mind, I just wanted see where it would take me. Overall, I like how she came out, even if the tail kinda reminded me of a Royal Gramma (i.e. that hypochondriac fish from Finding Nemo).
