Description
“The Key To Atlantis”This photomanipulation was made after I saw contest: Tales of Atlantis Contest . I’ve searched about it, I knew a few thinks about Atlantis, but I wanted to know a little bit more.
So why “The Key To Atlantis”? There was always a lot adventures around Atlantis and the find of the same. So I imagine, how Atlantis could never been found? There must have something that make it a secret. Only a person in this world could find Atlantis. Her name is Atlanta. She descend from a long line family that miracle survived to the fall of Atlantis. From generation to generation, mother to young women daughter a key have been passed. That key is the key to a secret world, the key for a past time… a key to Atlanta, the lost city, the lost civilization, and the salvation of the mankind.
Our future is in Atlanta’s hand… in the key she has.
I’ve been around this piece a few hours. Let me see, I saw 4 series (Without a Trace, CSI Miami, CSI NY, Criminal Minds) and after I saw two movies (The Dead Pool (1988) with Clint Eastwood :dazed: and a funny movie called The MatchMaker)
During that time I’ve done “The key to Atlantis”. I went to bed it was 5 am. That’s what I call early XD
Enjoy and comment please, this is my 4th or 5th photomanipulation so any advices and critics would be appreciate.
Atlantis is the name of a legendary island first mentioned in Plato's dialogues.
In Plato's account, Atlantis was a naval power that conquered many parts of Europe and Africa approximately 9600 BC. After a failed attempt to invade Athens, Atlantis drowns into the ocean.
Atlantis is generally seen as a myth created by Plato to illustrate his political theories. Many ancient philosophers viewed Atlantis as fiction. Although the function of the story of Atlantis seems clear to most scholars, they dispute whether and how much Plato's account was inspired by older traditions.
The possible existence of a genuine Atlantis was actively discussed throughout classical antiquity, but it was usually rejected and occasionally parodied by later authors. While little known during the Middle Ages, the story of Atlantis was rediscovered by Humanists in the Modern period. Atlantis inspires today's literature, from science fiction to comic books and films, its name having become a byword for any and all supposed prehistoric but advanced (and lost) civilizations.
In 1627 Francis Bacon describes a utopian society, called Bensalem, located off the western coast of America in his novel The New Atlantis.
At some point it was proposed that Atlantis was somehow related to Mayan and Aztec culture. During the late 19th century, ideas about the legendary nature of Atlantis were combined with stories of other lost continents like Mu.
As continental drift became more widely accepted during the 1960s, most “Lost Continent” theories of Atlantis began to wane in popularity. In response, some recent theories propose that elements of Plato's story were derived from earlier myths.
there have been dozens – perhaps hundreds – of locations proposed for Atlantis,
Some of them are: In or near the Mediterranean Sea (Sardinia, Crete and Santorini, Sicily, Cyprus, Malta; Troy, Tartessos, Turkey; Israel-Sinai or Canaan. In the area of the Black Sea: Bosporus and Ancomah.)
In the Atlantic Ocean (Several hypotheses place the sunken island in Northern Europe, like Sweden, in the North Sea, Celtic Shelf, Andalusia, Ireland, Canary Islands, and Azores.)
Other locations suggested were Antarctica, Indonesia, underneath the Bermuda Triangle, Caribbean Sea. Areas in the Pacific like Indonesia, Even Cuba and the Bahamas.
The legend of Atlantis is featured in many books, films, television series, games, songs and other creative works, same of them you probably have eared about.

I really, really like this! Which is why I'm going to comment and give you a few suggestions.
The images really look like an old photo collage; you did an excellent job with that. I love the tape on the edges and the way things blend together. It's a great idea that you executed really well.
For future reference: Make sure to keep your edges clean when you cut out an image. The best way to do it (usually) is to make the selection just inside of the image piece that you're using. If you look at the flowers there's just a little bit of fragmenting on the edges. Making the selection in a little further on the petals would help this.
Try putting a shadow under the key--it will give it more depth (you can either paint in black on a new layer and then lower the opacity or make a copy of the key set it to multiply, lower the opacity, and move it down slightly for the best effect). You could do the same for the flowers, too.

I've put a little shadow on some things... is it too dark for a shadow?
I really would like your opinion...

*is it too dark for a shadow?*
No. It looks really good, especially under the flowers. They really stand out and look like they're on top of the page now. Shadows are always very difficult to get right because you have to judge lighting--whether it's bright, direct, indirect, dim, etc. In this case, the sharp shadows make sense because it looks like we're looking at the page and key with a direct bright light.
