Not many people are aware that I actually love Firstshipping ever since Pokémon 1998!

But of course with a bit less goofy and more mature Ash/Satoshi. Still, we can't ignore the fact that he values interspecies friendship highly, plus he is damn brave. Attacking a god-tier Pokémon with your bare fist out of pure despair and rage? Getting hurled against the highest tower of his fortress? Climbing all the way down again, just to ultimately sacrifice your own life to save the world? That's one badass young rebel. And since felines are curious beings, I opted for this artwork commission.

Speaking about Mewtwo, I strongly encourage artists to give him a more athletic vibe, like here. Nintendo spent him decent hips and legs, but really neglected his arms and neck. Way too thin. Legendary psychic powers are nice, but stronger physical attributes combined with sharp, feline-like facial features, transform him into a truly handsome predator, wouldn't you agree?

All together, Reina-V did a really great job, and the communication was a true pleasure!
