Welcome to the basic information page for the standard traits which Cynoplasts have! This is a semi-open species!
The traits of these creatures have been well documented due to their intelligent nature, anything new found out about themselves is always recorded and shared with others to make the world slightly safer to navigate. Due to magic, often new things are discovered about themselves that they didn't know previously.

✦ What's SPMM? ✦
SPMM, pronounced "spim", stands for Spontaneous Magical Mutation. The magic in certain objects or in various areas may cause various weird, cool, or even cute effects to take place. Occasionally, it isn't even from an object and rather a the effect of a spell casted or a build-up of magic expressing itself physically. SPMM is a phenomena that's still being learned about, some consider it to be bad news while others think of their interesting new traits to be fun.
✦ Magical Buildup ✦
Magical mana is gathered and released through the feelers to and from the magic sack/pouch inside the Cynoplast. Usually, the Hackpak(tm) worn by a Cynoplast keeps a dangerous amount of mana from building up within them even if they don't use their magic, but touching a magical object or being in a place with high levels of mana can occasionally push a Cynoplast to its magical limits. This can cause various effects, the majority of them being negative. The effects depend on the type of mana being stored/produced. Cynoplasts without a Hackpak(tm) often use magic for the smallest of tasks, such as lifting a pencil and writing something, all the way down to using their magic to levitate them above the ground rather than sitting in a seat. Places with high levels of mana are occasionally even used for various spellcasting competitions.
✦ Various Manifestations of SPMM ✦
These mutations can manifest in all sorts of ways, but they don't just happen on their own. There's always a specific reason for it actually manifesting rather than just causing a magical explosion.
Some examples might be:
- The shape of one's horns changing into that of a sheep due to eating fruit from a cursed plant.
- One's eye color changing from touching a strange colorful fish with many eyes.
- Using a mana infused crystal ball for divination far too often, causing a third eye to grow.
No matter what, they won't happen without a specific item being used. One cannot give their Cynoplast any strange unmentioned traits without acquiring a magic item to do so. Once the item is used, unless stated otherwise, all of its magic is used for that one SPMM, and it cannot be used again. It will be considered 'gone' from the inventory since the item is no longer magical.

The large ears atop the head of a Cynoplast can be compared to that of a dog, fox, or wolf. There's a soft fuzzy coat on the inside of them to protect from dust, bacterium, and other small irritants that could get inside of them. They're usually the same height as the head.
They only have one pair of ears. ( Unless SPMM specified. )
They must always have ears at least the size of their head, this is a necessary proportion.

✦ Feelers ✦
The pair of feelers on the face of a Cynoplast are multipurpose. They act as a sort of heatsink for the mana and body heat of them. Generally, they will be the same temperature as the ears or pawpads of the Cynoplast. They're incredibly sensitive to magical aura, and the amount of mana in an area or item can be detected using them.
They must have at least two sets of feelers on their cheek area, nowhere else on the body. ( Unless SPMM specified. )

Their horns are made of a keratin-like substance, resembling that of a goat horn. Though some have been known to have odd horns, it's usually a magical occurrence and definitely not a natural happening.

Their eyes are known to be colorful and rather expressive! They share the belief that one's eyes can be considered the window to the soul.

Big... Squishy! Their paws are usually the size of their face, the same way a human hand is the same size as a human face.

Fluffy and good, they're known to display a wide range of weights depending on their lifestyle. A slightly chubby Cynoplast is not unheard of.
Their body can be any body type. There is no limit. The one displayed is simply the most common body type.

Their tails have been known to have many different fluffy appearances, some curled, some long, some bobbed short. As long as they're fluffy and can wag in some manner, it's the tail of a Cynoplast for sure!

The limbs of a Cynoplast function similar to that of a humans. As their legs aren't digitigrade and their elbows work akin to that of a person as well. They are seen sporting one pair of legs and one pair of arms.
