On my screen it looks fine. The contrast between the background and darkest parts of the cat is quite high, but it looks okay (at least in my opinion

This cutie hurt its ear.. More seriously, to answer your concern, it is not too dark on my monitor. Actually the hairbrushed blacks on the bottom right do not appear that black - but not lighter than intended i guess.
