Description

Woohoo~! I've had this one finished for a while (two weeks!) and have decided it's finally time to upload it! What you see here is best explained as a folded-out diorama. You are basically sitting on the table, in the center, looking around at the people surrounding it.

Who are surrounding it? Well, since this piece of fan-art is based on the NBC-hit sitcom Community, which ran from '09 to '14, you can imagine that this is the major cast (minus Chang)! All of them have their own [prop], except for Dean Pelton. From left to right we have:

Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase) [Laptop]

The ex CEO of his father's moist towelette company, Pierce is by far the oldest of the group (but not at school). While he makes an effort to be accepted and respected by the group, he's usually left out thanks to his sometimes racist and sexist behaviour.

Troy Barnes (Donald Glover) ["Troy and Abed in the Morning"-mug]

Once a well-respected athlete, he's now more of a goofball than a jock. Being one of the younger students at Greendale Community College, he doesn't always think like his older friends but he knows he can always depend on his best friend Abed.

Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi) [Abed diorama doll]

Nothing can truly describe the wonder that is Abed Nadir. Born in a Palestinian - Polish-American household, he tries to make sense of the world through movie references, TV-tropes (which gets him an amazing girlfriend ^^) and pop-culture. Not shy of fourth-wall breaks without actually breaking the fourth wall.

Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs) [Spanish study book]

Snarky and old-fashioned are two words to describe Britta, but that doesn't do her character justice at all. She might be against just about everything, just for the sake of being against it, but it does make her driven and it helps put things in perspective.

Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) [Blackberry]

Starts out as an ex-lawyer hating his life and hating Greendale, wanting nothing more than to get a proper license and sleep with Britta, he soon turns into a father of the group. He is the reason the group exists in the first place and he always has a pep-talk ready to lift the spirits if need be.

Dean Craig Pelton (Jim Rash)

The current dean of Greendale Community College. Strives to make everyone happy and be as inclusive as possible... by excluding lots of things that would make people different. A kind man to a fault with a passion for costumes, a perfect fit for a school where you can get a degree in literally anything.

Annie Edison (Alison Brie) [Notebook and purple pen]

The sweetheart of the group. Being the youngest female the others tend to be overprotective, treat her like a little sister. While her academic prowess is nothing to scoff at, she's not just brains. While usually calm and collected, happy even, she can lose her cool when not taken seriously.

Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown) [Purse]

The mother hen of the group. Very strong in her religious beliefs and not a fan of Britta's life choices, she strives to make a better world by being a better person. She loves to cook and bake, even starting her own sandwich place on campus, you may think of her as sweet.. but don't make her mad.

There's so much more I want to say about this, despite knowing nobody would read it! I had plans to write a whole spiel even, based on the characters, but I'll pass on that... Unless someone wants me to write up something based solely on this upload?

For each character I picked an outfit that they wore on the show. None are too iconic, but they represent the character well. I did do a bit of research on their outfits after all. Their poses are all pretty iconic too. If you're a fan of the show, I'm sure you'll recognise them!

Posters and props are everywhere. The only thing I chose the easy way out was with the outdoors visible through the windows behind Pierce and Jeff. Maybe I should have done something more with it, but that would have become too complicated (with perspective and lighting and such), so I chose to stick with white, for the outdoors light effect.

I really really love this one. It turned out exactly as I had hoped during the vague planning phase. I hope you like it as much as I do ^ -^ If you have access to Netflix, you can find all six seasons (minus one episode) on there, so be sure to give it a watch if you haven't already done so!
