Rarity, the only pony who would buy gifts for her friends, on her own birthday.

I had this idea for a comic in the middle of the night, and for some reason it really persisted and kept me awake. This happens often, but this one in particular gave me quite the headache; until I finally decided to sketch a storyboard for it.(all during the middle of the night of course)

Coincidentally 's birthday was so close to when I did this, I worked on it a bit more and really wanted to give it unique feeling to turn this into a gift for her. I was racking my brain over what to do days before, but never found something that seemed meaningful enough to put time into. The fact this came up how it did, I had a bit of a strong feeling toward working on it.

While ironing it out I thought back to when I first made her a gift and how well it was received. Not that i'm looking for lightning to strike twice in terms of popularity, but I really wanted that sentimental feeling back into my work. Lately it's just felt like a slew of empty drawings, which as an artist is horrible to say about your work. I realized then that art should hold weight behind it's image and I want to continue that message now. Why an artist like out of the plethora of other artists made me want to achieve this... well, it's this radiance she always seems to give off. I realized that I wanted to be an artist who creates something with emotion carrying it; rather than be just some pony artist who draws a character and that's it. I want artwork I make to impact others in one way or another, and fortunately ever since I made that realization here: I have taken art farther than I ever intended to.

I really am thankful getting to know you . The fact you continue to make artwork daily with how busy you are speaks volumes. Especially these vivid, simple, but impressionable scenes. They are a delight to follow.

I know this comic is a bit on the sloppy side though, but it was intentional. I wanted a style that was slightly minimalistic, and still held a message. Not sure how much of this was achieved, however I hope you enjoyed it . You have given everyone who enjoys your art so much. I just wanted to give you something in return.
