Flying free.Oh what I would give
To be that bird flying high.
Flying forevermore on the thermals
of the sky.
Screaming my challenge to all that would listen
And all that would not.
The bird has a freedom
A freedom I would love to have
What I would give
To be as free as a bird.
But alas even the bird is chained.
Chained to the sky
As we are chained to the
Earth.
Forever will they fly
Forever we shall walk
But what I would give to
be free.
Free as I ever will be.
Take me away
Take me away into the unknown.
Stand upon the edge of that cliff
Spread your arms and lean -
Lean over and feel the breeze
The breeze that whips your face
That lifts your hair
That cleans your soul.
Fling yourself off.
Forget the world -
Forget everything
But that.
Give a scream as you plummet
As you fall down, down, down.
Know as you fall.. know
that you are flying.
Down, down, down.
You fall all the way down.
You close your eyes.
You softly sigh.
The peace surrounds you one last time.
Oh the sound your body makes
as it hits the ground
isn't made
for fairytales.
All around you the screams ring out
But you don't hear them.
You don't hear anything.
For you are free.
