The character I am actually playing in the Evangelion-inspired TTRPG I am a part of. It is an "Angel." An otherworldly being that can exert its influence on the universe it is currently interested in. Although each player is playing one of these "Angels," they play their characters through the "Angels." The player characters of these "Angels" are known as "Fingers." Generally speaking, "Angels" have the name of a god in one mythology or another, LokiEris is a bit different in that respect.
