Wow, about a two weeks since I last updated this thing. What could possibly take me so long? The answer is simple. The whole time, I worked hard on my latest Nsider Fanart Contest piece... and this thing is no exception. I should say, this is probably the biggest ever, no matter how many times I said that about the other pieces. I am very proud with how it turned out, and I hope you enjoy it too.
This month's theme is... Super Paper Mario!
Update: The contest has finished, but sadly I didn't win again. But this entry did get a Runner-Up honorable mention. To me, that is a real step up after fifteen contest involvements. Evidently, someday I may just get a win.

An rly outstanding little piece. U did an very good job on the detailings and the different mix of angles and persepectives on each row.

too pillow shaded, and i don't particularly like any of the bottom half, but i still have to say i like it.

It's funny how you could not like something, yet like the overall at the same time, huh? XP
The shading technique doesn't really match up with the original game art, true, but that's the cost for making a unique piece.

Not very papery...but I guess that's what makes this one special. Uniqueness goes a long way.
Love Bleck here. That glint is just perfect. You've captured all the other characters nicely here as well. Bowser looks a little odd, though, but that's my only beef.
I'm also impressed by the usage of the Light and Dark Prognisticuses (if that's even a word

Wow nice entry! I was going to enter but...those contests are always rigged, it's the same stuck-up members who win. Or maybe I really do just suck too much.

I don't think they are rigged at all. I have seen some new members who have won away the judges with their great entries. I have been competing with the contest for a year and a half, I should know what I mean.
The real joy in the Fanart Contest is just the enjoyment of being creative. That's what kept me going, even though I haven't won yet.
I should say, this is the best one ever and it is blowing away a lot of minds. Perhaps this may be my month. Thanks!

Haha. But actually, I don't think you'll have any trouble beating me, because my entry 1. Isn't in the SPM style, 2. Doesn't show any dimensionalish thingies or whatever, and 3. Doesn't even have Mario in it. Or any Pixels.
Hence, it's not gonna win. Just thought I'd enter it for fun.
If I were you, I'd watch out for Oozo's entry. That ones reallllly good.

Well, the daring attempt of recreating the baddies into anime form does has its own uniqueness to the mix. You'd never know what would happen. I have came across so many unexpected turn of events in the Fanart Contests. Like when Demie's Arcanine picture won for the PMD theme, even though it didn't have that much that resembles PMD. The good looks bought her off.
So hey, let's not give up just yet.... And yes, I am watching my back on Oozo. His bursting through paper scheme does add some creativity right there.

This has been created with the help of Photoshop 7.0. I also used a few sheets of paper sketched with the characters to help create guides before I redrew the lines on Photoshop.

Another astonishing piece of work, Arby! Luckilly, I beat the game, so I know what everything is in this new pic (which is pretty rare, lol). The only thing I dont remember is the name of the lady standing on the Dark Prostagnus. (or however you spell it...). Dimentio has to be one of my favorite Mario characters.

Her name is... erm... Nastasia, I think that's how you spell it. And It's "Prognoticus". It took me a while to memorize that, so I had the same trouble as you did memorizing it.
For me, Francis the nerdy iguana was my favorite character... along with the fourth section of his chapter that made me laugh like a madman the whole time to all of those nerdy references and stereotypes. XD

Heh, I just like Dimentio because he was a mysterious yet cool magic-man, if you will. He'd been secretly helping you Mario along He was also fun to fight. (but the main reason is because he wears purple and looks good in it...xD)
