Description Bielan and Bieluna are homeless crunes appearing in one of the side stories that are part of the NWNN universe. The temporary title of this story is "Oldburrow" (pl. Staronór), from the name of the town where the action begins. It's located on one of the islands of the totaltarian country called Gorjedan. Any rights there are available only to the crune bourgeoisie, while the yomshacks and the crune poor are discriminated against and persecuted.

Bielan and Bieluna were cousins. When Bieluna was a child, her parents were accused of killing a crune official and sentenced to life imprisonment. Bielan's father took care of the crune girl, but he quickly disappeared in unexplained circumstances. Cousins were condemned only to themselves. They made a living by begging and petty theft. As time went on, they got better at it and became more and more close. Eventually, despite their close kinship, they became a couple.

Bielan showed an increasing interest in more profitable crimes, such as robbing jewelry stores or assassination. Initially, Bieluna accompanied him, convinced that her cousin's actions were right, but she liked it less and less. She had a soft heart and didn't like the idea of causing misfortune to others. They started arguing about this. Bieluna believed that it was not necessary for them to live, while Bielan wanted to provide his beloved and himself with the best possible living conditions and didn't accept her arguments. When Bieluna became pregnant, he became even less submissive. Now it wasn't just about making their lives more pleasant, it was about gaining enough funds to at least rent a decent apartment and ensure the child's safety. So he conducted his activities on an increasingly larger scale. Bieluna had enough when her beloved shared with her a plan to kill one of the most rich crunes in the city, who also had small children. When pleas and threats didn't help, she reported him to the police with a heavy heart. Bielan was put behind bars for his numerous offenses, and Bieluna was left alone with huge remorse and her son.

After some time, she met a little homeless, hungry yomshack girl on the street and decided to take care of her. At her peak, she had eight abandoned creatures under her wing (she buried one before she reached her teens). She also made friends with a yomshack named Jantar, who often shared his family supplies with her group and provided them with a place to stay overnight. He and Bieluna's oldest adoptive daughter, Pężyrka, quickly showed romantic interest in each other. Jantar also introduced them to Branko, a young yomshack who loved reading and learning new things, who instilled in them the dream of leaving Gorjedan and moving to Lapotaklid, a place they idealized, imagining that everyone was equal there.

Meanwhile, Bielan and the group of his new yomshack friends escaped from prison. They wanted to start a revolution. He still felt hurt, devastated, and overall – furious. He wanted revenge on his cousin now. And he wasn't silent about it. They started to kill the most important people on the island, set fire to their houses and institution buildings, caused riots. Bieluna felt it was her former lover's doing. She didn't feel safe, especially since before his escape she had been receiving threatening letters, the number of which was increasing. Branko read them for her. She was desperate to keep her children safe and therefore increasingly wanted to leave the island. Finally, under the cover of night and the fires started by Bielan's group, they escaped. Bieluna, however, still felt guilty and couldn't stop thinking about what she had done to him, what he was doing now, and whether his stupid revenge would hit their son, Szkwał, who was left behind, making plans of establishing an institution that would provide free education and care for old and young Gorjedan yomshacks.

And... that's pretty much it. This story is much more complicated and focuses mostly on Branko (I mentioned him before), but I thought I'd only show you a general outline of the relationship between these two for now
