This title requires a handler with his/her dog to perform a series of basic and practical obedience exercises that have been chosen as essentials for having a well-behaved, family companion dog. In addition, the Family Obedience title has a difficulty level suitable for introducing new people to the benefits and pleasures of dog training and a title that teaches the basic fundamentals for obedience training.Dogs may be 9+ months of age to participate with no prior EliteK9s training.Dogs who participate will earn their FO title. For more information and exercises to be drawn, please see here.--Apprehension (Police Dog Class: PD)The Police Dog class is the main course of the Working Dogs of America Dog Sport program for improving breeding characteristics and assisting dog owners who want to produce dogs capable of police service work. It is divided into two phases: Obedience and Protection. Dogs must be 18+ months old or higher and must have their FO title, be participating in the FO class in this show, or have completed their BK9OT, Core Training, and AK9OT.Dogs who participate will earn either PD1, PD2, or PD3 depending on which class entered.-- PD1 Class Exercises-- PD2 Class Exercises-- PD3 Class Exercises--Detection (Detection Dog Certification)EliteK9s divides Detection exercises into three groups: Weapons, Narcotics, and Explosives. In this discipline, dogs are trained to locate and alert to various substances that are often dangerous or illegal. For the purposes of EliteK9s, we group Explosives and Accelerants together and either test can be shown.Dogs may be 9+ months of age to participate with no prior EliteK9s training.Dogs who participate will earn their DD-W, DD-N, or DD-E titles depending on which class entered.-- Weapons Detection Class Exercises -- Narcotics Detection Class Exercises -- Explosives Detection Class Exercises // Accelerant Detection Class Exercises --Tracking and Trailing (Tracking Class)The Tracking class is an optional class and a good test for dogs training in most disciplines from Search and Rescue, to Apprehension, and Detection. In real life tracking and trailing, the working dog must be able to adapt to various situations depending upon weather, terrain, and scent in order to do its job. The dog is only successful in its track when it attains its goal - finding that which is sought.Dogs must be 9 months of age or older for the T1 class and 15 months of age or older for the T2 and MT classes.Dogs who participate will earn either T1, T2, or MT titles depending on which class entered. These are judged against the artists gallery. Techniques (such as brushes, fur, anatomy, style, etc), as well as, composition (creativity of pose, style, dog, background, etc) will also be judged on positive consistencies and differences. If an entry is commissioned, the entry will be judged against the gallery of the artist that made the piece, NOT the owner of the dog.Word Count (0-3): +1 for every 100 words up to 3 points (300/three hundred) Show Accuracy (0-10): How accurately the artist depicts the show and setting.Artistic Appeal (0-10): This category takes into consideration color use, general appeal, composition, shading, perspective, an obvious light source, and general creativity. A carefully planned and executed piece that doesn't appear sloppy or rushed that may or may not use complex poses, etc will receive a higher score.Handler Depicted (0-5): 0 points for neither shown. +3 for a half-body depiction. 5 points for full body.
