what did you draw first? did this start out as a guy in a ship, going towards a moon, then you decided to have him float?
or was the moon first, as a landscape, and you thought you'd add a floating boat?
or did you just think of this all at once, and work on everything a little bit at a time till it came all together?

Very nice, I think you struck a good balance between reality and fantasy.
It actually reminds me a little of Harris Burdick (he was this guy who went to a book publisher and left him 12 drawings, each accompanied by 1 line of text from a story. He said he would return the next day with the stories but instead he just disappeared.) The artwork has a sort of surreal/mystical feel and it looks like an illustration from a storybook
