My favorite costume so far. Made for my performance & installation class in the spring for my final project - the requirement for the performance option was that it be at least 2' off the ground. The back stilts are 2' tall, and the front stilts are 40". The tail is 8 yards long, and the entire costume is about 8-9' tall at the top of the head.

Walking in this is actually really good exercise. I can't go more than 10 minutes walking in it without getting dangerously shaky (not good on stilts, whether or not the head is built on a helmet), but since I plan on taking it out to various events I need to practice walking in it more.

I still need to spray paint the stilts black and attach the spines on the back with something more sturdy... the hot glue is starting to peel off, and I need to figure out what the hell would hold them on. Maybe holes drilled through the plaster spines and leather thongs sewn into the tail?

Anyway, I'll post more pics when it's done.
