A F/A-18 Super Hornet exceeds 600 knots in a fast fly-by of the crowd at AirVenture on Friday 27 July.The trans sonic shockwave is creating an area of lower pressure past the leading edges of the wings and causing the vapor.
Just a little faster and he would have been supersonic, but he backed off in time.
