Description
In 1989, Westinghouse sold Filmation to Paravision International, an investment consortium led by the French cosmetics company L'Oréal. Before that sale was complete, Westinghouse shuttered the film studio on February 3, 1989, which left L'Oréal with only the Filmation library. So what if Amblin Entertainment acquires Filmation and the library and folded Filmation into Amblination and some of the Filmation animators working on new Amblination films for Universal Studios starting with An American Tail: Fievel Goes West.
In 1997, The studio closed after only 8 years of operation and became a self-storage facility called Access Self-Storage. All 250 of Amblimation's crew members went on to join DreamWorks Animation and DreamWorks SKG decided to revive Filmation to producing future animated television series and it was spearheaded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Steven Spielberg and was headed by former Walt Disney Television Animation executives Gary Krisel and David Simon.
Filmation only produced two series for DreamWorks Television: Invasion America and Toonsylvania.
Also, Filmation is partnering with Universal Cartoon Studios to producing movies and TV series, starting with Hercules and Xena – The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus.
In a move to consolidate, Filmation was shut down in 1999 as well as the direct-to-video subsidiary merged with the studio's feature animation division, as a way for the company to reorganize its animation divisions to operate under one umbrella. More than two-thirds of the TV division's 50 employees were transferred to the direct-to-video unit and it was expected that only a minimal number of employees were be affected by the reorganization.
Also in 2004, The animation division was spun off into a publicly traded company named DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. (doing business as DreamWorks Animation LLC) and also acquires Filmation's library.
So this is my own fake story in my opinion.
I own nothing.
