Also, while I also favorited "Confrontation" and "Morgalla" (because I think they're of pretty good quality), Empress is definitely my top vote.

Of all the characters in this contest, this is the one that feels most fully realized, except perhaps Soviet Superwoman. However, SS is so tied with the Angel Falls universe (and is kind of a Superman: Red Son expy) that removing her from it would also undo much of her character. Empress, on the other hand, has room to grow as well as a good foundation of growth. She's also not too similar to any currently existing characters (except perhaps Captain Planet or Poison Ivy, but she has plenty of differences to distinguish herself from those well-known characters).
Moreover, what I've seen so far indicates that (despite her godlike powers) she has a real human feel. She has flaws, a 'normal' life, and an uncertain future. Her crusade is difficult even for one WITH her immense abilities (unlike Superman, whose crusade is 'stop criminals', which is really easy for an all-seeing, super-strong, super-fast flying guy with an entire league of fellow heroes behind him), as she must effectively overturn centuries of wasteful human thinking AND fight crime.
So yes, go with her. She deserves it.
