I think there were pretty much two things that brought about this pairing: colouring and attitude. Yes, I know Rocket is black and Jasmine is brown, but there's only one black princess to date. And the original sketch was done before season three, otherwise you can bet that Jasmine would have ended up as Halo. Anyway. Rocket's light-up belt, looser outfit, and general attitude levels seem to work well for Jasmine, so I think it Jasket works out anyway.
