Growing up in Tsetse Hive was rough. After everything had happened with Queen Wasp, the hives were in shambles. Plus, now the society had to deal with Hivewing hybrids too? Everything was a mess. But, the community was trying to make sure everyone was fed, and that there weren’t too many fights breaking out.

Powder grew up loooving pretty things. The galaxy necklace around her neck was given to her by her Hivewing mother who ventured into Jewel Hive frequently and attended the bazaars. She was originally very particular about her looks and loved that she stood out from everyone else. In school, she was always the most popular dragonet because of her unique colours and frost powers. She always loved the attention she got. However, little did they know that her family was a mess at home.

School had always been her sanctuary and safe place, everyone loved her there and she loved everyone too. Well, asides from her teachers, but it was normal to not like some of your teachers, right?

Back at home, Powder’s parents were constantly fighting. She could see that they were no longer happy with their pairing, but they were trying to work it out because of her. Eventually, this went on long enough that she blamed herself for them splitting up. Her father assured Powder that this was not the case, and received the majority of custody of her. He always took good care of her and tried to make sure that she didn’t hear any of the fights. But like with every other nosey dragonet, she would always try and listen in.

Now that she was a working adult and needed a job like everyone else, no one would take her in because she was a hybrid. There weren’t any set jobs for hybrid dragons in the Hivewing society, they were so used to Hivewings being “better” than Silkwings that the societal restructure hadn’t even started to factor in hybrids yet. Her parents weren’t together anymore, and she was left with a broken family and a mother who only visited her once a month. She felt she needed a fresh start at life.
