I love these type of scrap metal sculpture machines. Even though it is a render, I just find these types of work to be so fascinating.

I like art like this. It shows humanity. Like my robot profile icon. The original looks a bit better, but it is still cool

This is cool! I like the fact that the robot looks like something that could actually be built, but it still has a lot of personality to it, despite the obvious lack of a face.

This is the third one I have seen of this little robot. I think he/she is adorable and oh no!!!! He /she dropped her little arm. My goodness.....I can almost cry for this little robot! The two little gears on her side look so perfect and the tiling ,the blurring. Yes...definately I have to have this one too. Okay I think I will have to start collecting this little robot! I have seen the one with the Tractor and the telescope and this one. Going to find more.
All I need to do now is click Request Print. :0) . Number 2 on it's way soon : )

This one and "Mechanical Flaw" are very meaningful to me because it was the point that I reached a good technical level.

The cambot (the "camera-like robot") was a joke about my own attitude toward issues, such as find that losing an arm is just a scratch. I've broken two bones of the leg once and I called home just to tell my mother that I would arrive early

Beautifully done! I suck at lighting...some day I shall be better at understanding it! Do you have any tips, by chance?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ark4n In reply to celestialsunberry [2011-12-11 00:41:54 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

My suggestions:
- Follow the video tutorials of the Blender Guru and of the Blender Cookie.
- Take a look at the book "Blender 2.5 Lighting and Rendering." It explains a lot about lighting in Blender.
- Read the book "Digital Lighting and Rendering", an excellent reference, software independent.

Perhaps I should use the internal render more, seems to have improved greatly.

Yes, in the 2.5x versions, the internal render had improved quite well.

I love the hints of stain on the plating, as well as the suggestions of rust. The two gears on the ground next to each other is a great touch. And the ground, is that supposed to be dry cracked dirt? I love the walls and the pipes coming out of them. I feel like I just stepped into one of the Myst games.
